Please read the following terms carefully before proceeding with any shoe dyeing service. By booking and/or proceeding with a dyeing service, you confirm that you have understood and accepted the following conditions.

1. Dyeing is a Permanent Process

Shoe dyeing is a permanent alteration to the material and cannot be reversed. Once the dyeing process has been carried out, the original colour and finish of the material cannot be guaranteed to be restored. For this reason, dyeing is undertaken entirely at the customer’s own risk. We strongly recommend that customers only proceed if they are comfortable with the permanent nature of the process.

2. Colour Variations

Any colour charts, photographs, samples or examples shown on our website, in-store or by our team are for guidance purposes only. Due to differences in the original colour, material, finish, age and condition of each individual pair of shoes, we cannot guarantee an exact colour match to any colour chart, photograph, sample or example provided. The final colour may vary from the colour shown or requested. This is particularly applicable when dyeing a lighter colour over an existing colour or when working with materials that absorb dye differently.

3. Material and Texture Changes

The dyeing process can alter the texture, feel, finish and appearance of the original material. This is particularly relevant to suede, nubuck and other textured or absorbent materials. Dyeing may cause the material to become slightly different in texture, feel or appearance from its original condition. Customers must accept that some change to the material may occur as a natural consequence of the dyeing process.

4. Dyeing Suede and Other Textured Materials

Dyeing a finished pair of shoes is very different from the process used to colour material during the original manufacturing process. When suede is dyed during manufacture, the material is generally dyed while it is flat and before it has been cut, stitched, shaped and constructed into a finished shoe. This allows the dye to be applied under controlled manufacturing conditions. When dyeing an already-constructed shoe, the material is being treated after it has been shaped, stitched and assembled. As a result, the finished colour may not be completely even or uniform across the entire shoe. Customers should therefore understand that a professionally dyed shoe will not necessarily have the same perfectly uniform appearance as a brand-new shoe that was manufactured in that colour.

Areas such as seams, folds, stitching, edges, creases and areas of the material that are more or less absorbent may show variations in colour or tone.

5. Existing Condition of the Shoes

The final result will also depend on the original material, colour, condition, age and previous treatment of the shoes. Existing marks, stains, wear, creasing, previous dyes, finishes, coatings or other imperfections may affect the final appearance and may remain visible after dyeing.

6. Acceptance of the Result

By proceeding with the dyeing service, the customer acknowledges that dyeing is a specialist restoration process rather than a manufacturing process and that an exact factory-new finish or colour cannot be guaranteed. Minor variations in colour, tone, texture and finish are considered an inherent part of the process and do not necessarily constitute a failure of the service. Where the requested colour and overall result have been reasonably achieved, we cannot accept responsibility for natural variations resulting from the characteristics of the material or the permanent dyeing process.

7. Customer Confirmation

By placing an order for our shoe dyeing service, the customer confirms that they:

  • Understand that dyeing is a permanent and irreversible process.

  • Accept that the process is undertaken at their own risk.

  • Understand that the final colour cannot be guaranteed to exactly match a colour chart, photograph, sample or example.

  • Understand that dyeing may alter the texture, feel or finish of the material.

  • Understand that suede and other textured materials may have variations in colour and coverage when dyed as a finished shoe.

  • Understand that a dyed shoe may not have the same perfectly even finish as a shoe manufactured in that colour from new.

  • Accept that the final result will be affected by the original material, colour and condition of the shoes.

By proceeding with the service, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these terms and conditions.
